Snails...

The other day, Charlotte brought me this doll (Sleeping Beauty, for you non-princess folks out there) and was telling me all about her:

"See her?"
"Yes, I do."
"She got her pink dress on. And she got her crowns on (quoting directly, here..random things are plural)."  And her snails!"
"Her snails?"
"Yes, her snails." (showing me the back of the doll)

Isn't that funny? She calls all curlicues "snails" ever since she learned about snails in one of her books.

Charlotte brought me this um, strainer? I don't even know what it is..it just sits in our lazy susan cabinet...this was our conversation:

Charlotte: "See dis?"
Me: "Yes"
Charlotte: "It's a lady bug."
Me: "Oh, neat!"
Charlotte: "She is nice."
Me: (smiling)
Charlotte: "She's a nice girl!"

I guess with the holes, it does look a bit like the back of a big silver lady bug. Good eye, girl!

9 months!

Little...well, not little actually but more on that in a second...Bud Bud is nine months old!! It has flown by (well, after the colic ended) and he is SUCH a delight. So fun, so sweet, full of teeth (7: 4 front top and 3 front bottom) and laughter. Mostly, Liam has been Growing..he's in the 95th % for height, weight and head..so at least he's proportionate! He weighs 23 lbs 4 oz and is 30 1/2 inches long. He's crawling everywhere, chasing Charlotte around, and pulling up like crazy. We're hoping he walks soon so we can stop carrying 23+ pounds soon!!

We love you, sweet boy!!

Pool time at Nana and Poppy's is always fun!! I'm sure we'll have many fun times in the pool this summer!!

A Little Artist

Okay, I'm going to brag. Just for a sec. Charlotte drew this face all by herself!! Tell me that's not above average for a 2 1/2 year old. Actually, don't tell me that. I was being sarcastic. I'm so proud of her drawing :) She is a very intentional artist and is decent at staying in the lines in coloring books (although I'm totally happy if she never wants to color in the lines)...it is just impressive sometimes how well she does with it on her own. Great Job, Baby Girl!!

The ONE Family Picture at the Beach!

Of course Josh and I are both doing the "lean your heads towards the goup thing" and having funky necks because of it...but at least we're all together in one shot! (actually, we were all together all week long and it was FABULOUS!!) We can't wait until next time!!

Aquarium!

The kids (and adults) had a great time at the aquarium! Charlotte was in such awe she refused to take time away from watching the animals to pose for a picture! (one direct smiling pose was achived through bribery). Liam had the best time of anyone, I think. He's really logging in the visual images these days, so this place was a feast for his eyes! We had a blast :D
