Rice = Mess

Well, I have been battling it out with the rice cereal lately...can you tell who's winning?!? I have been tempted to just dump it all on her head for days now, and my dear husband gave me the go-ahead. Don't call child protective services just yet, Charlotte seriously didn't even notice. Let's just say... I'm typing this post-bath. Whew, we'll keep at it and I'm sure eventually she'll eventually get the hang of it. I also posted a picture of her "new" jumper seat~she loves it!! :D

Today we attended the funeral of a very sweet and special man: Josh's great-uncle Carroll. We'll miss you, but we know you are resting comfortably now!

Charlotte's New "Toy"

Soo, in the past few days, Charlotte has discovered her tongue..it's so funny (although Penny, if you're reading this, I'm praying it doesn't turn into an Eve face by Kindergarten..ahh!). Here are some pictures of the new fun she's been having. She sticks it out constantly and smiles with her tongue curled~what a genius (I'm one of those people that can't do that..she's already surpassed me, hee hee)
Speaking of New Toys...we purchased a jumper seat (the kind that hang in a doorway)...LOVE IT!! She has such a good time :) Thanks, Once Upon A Child, and Nana for suggesting that we try one more place :)




This week was a very exciting one! We got to visit with Lauren and Gabby (who is such a true sweetheart~and also adorable~and also has fabulous parents) and we got to see Nana and Poppy! This weekend we'll get to hang out with Kevin and Kindra and Alivia and Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw!! Fun Times :)





We're also happy to congratulate Amanda and Jared on their new little one!! We can't wait to meet Chloe!

New Furniture!

So, as much as we truly loved our first sofa and chair (courtesy of Josh's parents~Thank You Thank You Thank You!!), and as much as we will miss them...(I can't count how many naps I've taken on it~super comfy)...it was time to say goodbye. And today was the day! We ordered/bought the stuff at the FURNITURE MARKET (in all caps to signify to non-triad readers the hugeness of said market...which is a big sale/furniture show/buying/selling ~industry staple in the furniture biz that basically takes over High Point twice a year) this past spring and it finally got here. We custom-ordered a sofa, chair, and upholstered storage ottoman...it was a little scary ordering this furniture and I'll tell you why: the day we picked it out and ordered it was my first day back at work after maternity leave and I was exhausted, to say the least. I was carrying Charlotte around the furniture store, a little delirious, and pretty much any sofa was comfortable..so that was scary point #1: was it actually comfortable? Scary point #2 was not being able to "mull over" how it would look with our existing furniture/colors/room...but we had to decide right then, so we went for it!! Well, both points ended in happiness: it is very comfy and looks good~we think! Any and all blog readers are more than welcome to come low-test our new seats!!

Hey There!

The beach was awesome!! Charlotte enjoyed the waves and had a good time trying to figure out the whole "ocean" thing. Unfortunately, we got really techie and video taped her trip to the water...no pics yet.

We celebrated Josh's first Father's Day at the beach and got to see both of our dads...Tony~when we traded out the beach house with Josh's parents, and Groovy~when we got back to Matthews to pick up the puggles!

Then Charlotte and I stayed in Matthews to spend some time with the McGraws...and the soon-to-be Smiths!! Congrats Erin and Josh!! What a fun visit!!

Getting Ready for the Beach

Like any girl, Charlotte has been trying on her bathing suits to see which ones she wants to pack for our trip this Wednesday. We are leaving for the Beach! after work and we're so excited. The puggles are spending time with their grand-owners in Charlotte and the three of us are off to the ocean~traditional baby in the ocean picture to follow soon...

In honor of the trip, we purchased an ocean-themed play gym which she has really taken a liking to, and it will be great to have at Josh's grandparent's beach house!

Happy Birthdays and Merry Christmas 2009!

Josh and I decided to do some gift combining and relieve ourselves of the wonderful but slightly aged mattress we have had..so we sprung for a Simmons Beautyrest Classic...it's awesome!! I realized I should have waited until work was out for Summer break, since it has made getting out of bed even harder...

the little card on the bed says "Thank You" ...the delivery guys (who also took away the old mattress~to recycle no less) left it on the new mattress.

Fun Times with the McGraws last weekend!

We had a great time with my parents last weekend! Good family time, good food, and good play time outside for the puggles (courtesy of Mom and Dad's fenced-in back yard & puggle manor). Looking forward to seeing them again Father's day!
